ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Lee Daugherty, Jim Steele, Jerry Tanner, Jr., Kathie Knoblauch, Bill Hartmann, Mark Knoblauch. ABSENT: Dennis Smoke
ALSO PRESENT: DPW Supervisor Phil Goodlock, Librarian Kathy Hepker, WWTP Superintendent Mike Shadbolt, West Boyd, Treasurer/Income Tax Administrator Dixie Wright, Utility Billing Clerk Rita Shaffer, Dave Frownfelder, City Attorney Denis Jodis, City Manager Frank Goodroe, and City Clerk Kim Murphy.
ORDERS OF THE DAY: Excuse Absent Member(s): 743658: Motion by Jerry Tanner, seconded by Mark Knoblauch to excuse Dennis Smoke from the meeting, CARRIED 4-2 by roll call vote. (Daugherty, Steele, Tanner, M. Knoblauch – YES) (K. Knoblauch, Hartmann – NO) Minutes: 743659: Motion by Kathie Knoblauch, seconded by Jim Steele to approve the minutes of February 6, 2007 and place them on file, CARRIED 6-0 by roll call vote.
PUBLIC COMMENT: There was no public comment. NEW BUSINESS: Consider Change in Meeting Date: City Manager Frank Goodroe indicated that a number of Council members and staff members will be attending the Michigan Municipal League Legislative Conference and Pre-Conference which will be held on March 20 – 21, 2007. Therefore, Mr. Goodroe suggested the March 20, 2007 Council meeting be cancelled and rescheduled for March 27, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. 743660: Motion by Bill Hartmann, seconded by Jerry Tanner to cancel the March 20, 2007 Council meeting and reschedule it for Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at 7:00 p.m., CARRIED: 6-0 by roll call vote.
PERMISSION TO BID: Maple Grove Cemetery Lawn Maintenance Contract: City Manager Frank Goodroe advised Council that the contract for lawn maintenance at Maple Grove Cemetery has expired. Council asked Mr. Goodroe to research the possibility of using prison labor for such services. 743661: Motion by Jim Steele, seconded by Mark Knoblauch to authorize the taking of bids for lawn maintenance at Maple Grove Cemetery, CARRIED: 6-0 by roll call vote. 767 UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Website Contract: City Manager Frank Goodroe presented Council with the current contract the City of Hudson holds with Rob Hall, the Webmaster. There is some concern regarding certain provisions of the contract. This contract renews annually in April unless written notice is provided to the contrary. Council discussed the possibility of performing website services in-house, however, this may prove to be cost prohibitive. 743662: Motion by Mark Knoblauch, seconded by Jim Steele to direct the City Manager to re-evaluate the City website contract, CARRIED: 6-0 by roll call vote. Department Head Reports: 743663: Motion by Jim Steele, seconded by Jerry Tanner to accept the Department Head Reports and place them on file, CARRIED: 6-0 by roll call vote. Bills: The following bills were submitted for payment: Consumers Energy $ 2,101.49 Consumers Energy $ 2,128.49

CITY MANAGER’S REPORT: 1. The City of Hudson has been paired with the Village of Bellevue for the Mayor’s Exchange this year. Plans will be underway shortly to set a date for the exchange. 2. The Local Officers Compensation Commission will be meeting this week. The Board has received several pieces of information in preparation of their meeting. 3. Finally, Mr. Goodroe provided Council with some small town development information which was also provided to the Planning Commission, DDA, and department heads.
