What is the Project Good Start Revitalization Plan?

The Project Good Start Revitalization Plan is a plan developed by volunteers in the Community under the direction of the Community Action Agency.  The Community pinpointed generalized areas in the City that need to be improved upon.  The Revitalization Plan outlines those items as goals.  The Hudson City Council is reviewing these goals and setting objectives, action steps, committees, and timelines to ensure the success of these goals.  Listed below are the five goals:

HOUSING & NEIGHBORHOODS:  The City of Hudson’s neighborhoods will be safe, clean and pleasant and will offer new opportunities for a variety of housing.

DOWNTOWN:  Downtown Hudson, and its role as the commercial, cultural, and social center of the community, will be strengthened and promoted.

PARKS, RECREATION, AND NATURAL FEATURES:  The City of Hudson will maintain a complete park system that meets the needs and interests of all of its residents.  The park system will include the Bean Creek Linear Park.

COMMUNITY FACILITIES & INFRASTRUCTURE:  The City of Hudson will provide its residents and businesses with high quality services, facilities and infrastructure.

LAND USE:  The City of Hudson provides a balance of residential, commercial, industrial and recreational land uses that are appropriately located and do not conflict with one another.  This balance will be maintained as vacant land is developed and as new land is annexed into the City.

The Council is also seeking community volunteers to serve on the committees that are being created to address each objective.  Whether you would like to participate as a volunteer or have some ideas that you think would be helpful, please contact City Clerk Kim Murphy at 448-8983.
